Legal Status of Settlement Recommendation towards Indication of Human Rights Violations in Aceh

This research aims to study and explain the handling of alleged human rights violations in Aceh, the legal status of recommendations for handling alleged human rights violations, and the inhibiting factors in handling alleged human rights violations in Aceh. This is important considering Article 1 Number 8 of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation No. 23 of 2022 concerning Handling Alleged Human Rights Violations (Permenkumham No.23 Tahun 2022), Recommendations are conclusions and efforts to resolve the results of examinations of Human Rights violations submitted to the Relevant Party which must be implemented and followed up in order to resolve human rights violations. Recommendations are addressed to government agencies/institutions that are suspected of violating human rights with a copy to the reporter. The Head of the Aceh Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kakanwil Kemenkumham) cannot force the parties to implement the recommendations given.
